Yes! I got my SSAT scores back, and boy they were better then I would have hoped for.
Score Percentile
Verbal: 746 91% (Way higher then I thought I would get)
Math: 800 99% (I was kinda expecting this)
Reading:728 96% (Ditto the verbal comment)
Total: 2274 97% (Yay!)

Oh well

I wasn't selected for the Jack Kent Cooke scholarship program.

Ow, Thanksgiving

Ow, I got my braces tightened two days before Thanksgivings day. I couldn't eat much turkey, but I ate lots of mashed potatoes. I'm thankful that I still have teeth however. :)

Argh. I guessed on #25 and got it right but I forgot to answer a question! Now I'm doomed to not scoring a 25 ever. Noooo. Oh well there is still the AMC-12. Making pretty steady progress on my application essays.

Conclusion of my tours

Well, I've toured all of the "good" schools in Minnesota.

Minnesota Schools:
Pros:
-I'd be at home

Cons:
-They act as babysitting for older kids
-No APs at most
-"hard" english load is to read 6 books each semester. I read 7 books a week

Out of State Boarding schools
Pros:
-Great Teachers (think Zuming Feng)
-Great Courses, lots of APs
-Great environment, lots of smart kids

Cons:
-Away from home

So I think I'll be applying to Exeter and Andover with Noble (maybe, long story*) as a safety.


*The long story:
I was talking to my friend in Boston about how I might meet him when I go tour Exeter and Andover (from now on E&A). So he said that he goes to Noble & Greenough (from now on N&G). It was a pretty good school and I would get in no matter what, because they always want more boarding students (so he said). Plus he said that he could be my host family if I went (cool kid + Indian food!). So I might make it my safety.

I'm finished with my computer project! I've got every thing rendered in max and my post effects even finished. My partner and I also decided to stick some music in for fun. Wish I could upload some renders, but I don't have the files right now.

Wow so much

In the last few days lots of stuff has just happened. I'll try and recap.

1. I scheduled interviews with Exeter and Andover; I've never been so nervous for a phone conversation.

2. I went to a Halloween party at a rich kids house. They had a whole gym in the basement; and being rich having girl friends isn't an issue of course so, the ratio of boys to girls was about 1:10. I would have been less embarrassed if I was actaully I friend of the person not the persons piano teachers son.

3. I got promoted to C2 traveling in soccer (it goes Premier, C1, C2, C3).

4. UMTYMP test coming up. Chemistry test due. Biology test due. Poetry due (poetry is HARD). UMTYMP due. Programming due...

5. Visited Saint Paul Academy, first school I've visited with a mildly challenging course catalog.

And a lot more I can't remember right now. :)
